End of Month Update
Comrades and Citizens all,
This past month has been the first in our quarterly plan series, a plan created in order for our government to be more responsive to the needs of our citizens and to allow them to hold our Party to account. They are divided into three categories, Citizens, Merchandize and Diplomacy. In this spirit of accountability, it is only nature then to examine our process in achieving these goals.
Citizen Goals
This planning initiative was first and foremost designed to bring our citizens to the forefront of policy making and nation-building. The Bi-Weekly Community Events I believe achieved this splendidly. We asked our citizens questions on the most important topics regarding international politics, domestic policy and even interstellar matters; they responded greatly and we thank in particular our Supreme Court Justice George, Marshal of the Army Howard, Deputy Premier Xavier and our Minister for Arts Jack. Secondly, our party wanted to continue making Fireside Chats which we did. Finally, with fantastic input from our citizens we made the second World Lounge Podcast, where we delved into both the big political questions of the day and the latest pop culture happenings.
Merchandize Goals
This month we decided to focus on the creation of patches, this is where the experiences of our Comrade Deputy Premier greatly assisted our goals. Xavier helped find Chinese based manufacturers that could produce 50 patches for an acceptable price. Whilst some of our citizens would have preferred if we made them in Australia, the cost was simply too price prohibitive. I now have the patches on my desk and have begun to ship them out to our citizens. The Confederation once again benefits significantly from Xavier’s determination and good work ethic.
Diplomatic Goals
This is where admittedly our Party fell short of our projections. Whilst we did not make the social media pages and current diplomatic efforts took longer than expected; we have recently found a solution. We signed our nation up to the Micro Workshop being hosted by some of the biggest names in Micro-Nationalism today. We believe that this event in February will allow for a greater number of diplomatic meetings with different nations than if we attempted to do them individually. I look forward to representing our great Confederation at this international event.
Conclusion
This has been a busy month but a productive one, we have met most of our targets and have increased citizen engagement. I personally want to thank all our citizens for bringing their passions, talents and skills to the table; we couldn’t have done it without you.
The DSCP promised at the last election that our government would make increased efforts to bring our citizens together and to listen to them. We have achieved both of these things and have no plans on stopping. We look forward to February and to the continued rise of our union. Long Live the Vladastock Confederation and Long Live the Democratic Socialist Confederation Party.
Signed,
-Premier William Alexander
