World Federalist Papers Article Four: A new World Federalist ideology for a new day.

The previous articles have spoken about why World Federalism is the next critical step in human political evolution. we must now discuss World Federalism as an ideology. What are our beliefs? Who are our allies? Who are our opponents? And what are our guiding principles?

Like Dr Sun Yat-Sens’ ‘Three Principles of the People’, which he crafted in the pursuit of a united China; we too, must have core beliefs that compliment and support our cause. Our guiding principles must be the Three Universal Watchwords. Liberty, Unity and Justice.

Liberty

Liberty, is the fundamental goal that all people seek. Whether it is political liberty through democracy, economic liberty through the acquisition of wealth, or liberty from fear through security. Our movement must be dedicated to the advancement of liberty for all peoples, everywhere. This means that we stand for both individual and group rights. With this in mind, any and all actions we take as World Federalists must be in the interests of liberty. This can manifest itself in many ways, including but not limited to; advancing the rights of minority groups, or demanding the release of individual human rights campaigners from unjust imprisonment.

We should also strive to align ourselves with democratic countries, groups and persons; even if they do not share our World Federalist beliefs. Helping them achieve or maintain liberty, in turn helps us advance closer towards that day when all of Humanity joins together in familial unity.

Unity

Unity is a critical tool in our struggle for World Federalism. We must have unity between races, nationalities, countries, cultures, political beliefs, religions, sexual preferences and gender identities. Differences of all kinds must be treasured, for World Federalism cannot be built on the tyranny of conformity or hegemony. Unity will be the cement that secures our globe spanning government. In pursuit of this, our movement must be open and encouraging for all communities to join. This will require an active anti-racism, anti-xenophobic culture to be fostered within our ranks. The fundamental truth is that there are no superior cultures or races; no person is born better than any other.

Nationalism is at its core an exclusivity project. It rejects people based on where they were born, what skin pigment they have, or the deity they choose to believe in. This has caused unimaginable suffering throughout Human history as seen by our past cycles of war and colonialism. However, under a World Federalist system practicing Unity, all people will be welcome to partake in a shared system where all are equal. The power of the major governments today rests fundamentally on the fear and division created by nationalism. How else do governments justify defence spending that soars into the trillions of dollars, and inhumane policies that exclude and exterminate entire cultures. Therefore, whilst we have no issue with patriotism or loving one’s country, our movement must oppose ultra-nationalism in all forms. This makes us the natural enemy of Neo-Fascists, religious fundamentalists and other totalitarian ideologs. We will use their own extremity as a political weapon to convince peoples around the world that our path is the better option. After-all it was the extremist politics of the Third Reich that united the world against them, and more recently the horrors inflicted by Daesh mobilized the entire Middle-East to destroy that hateful group.

Justice

Justice is the backbone of any successful political entity. Without proper justice, people lose faith in the governing system and begin to actively rebel against it. We must practice three kinds of justice; legal justice, social justice and economic justice. The first is the simplest to understand. Our movement and future government must hold those who violate democratically made law to account. This rule however has exceptions for protests or acts that stop the growth of Fascism.

Social Justice however, is the pursuit of equality within our societies and wider world.  This must be an objective for all World Federalists. Wherever we see inequality, we must act to dismantle it. Inequality can take many forms, including racial, sexual and gender-based inequalities. We cannot practice liberty without this kind of justice being properly exercised.

Finally, there is economic justice. Capitalism when left unregulated entrenches wealth and hinders opportunities for those without capital to create it. To save modern liberalism from itself, it requires socialism as a balance. Our movement and future government must support policies that redistribute wealth and opportunities for wealth creation to those who have been left behind by the march of capitalism. It is indisputable that until a new economic system has been designed, capitalism remains the best system for the development of our species overall; however, it must be radically altered from its current form to increase the quality of life for those that need it most and save the world from climate catastrophe.

With these three watchwords, we will achieve our peaceful revolution and unite the world. Only with Liberty, Unity and Justice can humanity be saved from its most depraved instincts, and reach its full potential in the stars.
