VC supports Farmers and Farmer Unions of India

Currently, the largest protests in the world are taking place in India where Farmers are bravely resisting three pieces of pro-corporate legislation forced through by the current ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. These acts would fundamentally break down the system of regulated, fair price markets that presently exist, allowing corporations to hustle the agricultural industry of India in a race to the bottom.

Neo-Liberal economic policies have, across the entire face of this planet brought ruin to the countries they are introduced in. Developing or Developed economies, North, South, East and West. Giving corporations the ability to create monopolies will result in dominated markets, where profits soar for the few and pain is inflicted on the many.  

Any and all legislation that hurts working people is an affront to our collective Humanity, and must be opposed. The DSCP condemns the actions of the BJP and we stand in solidarity with the valiant Farmers of India.
