First military alliance ratified

Today the Confederation Assembly ratified the Vladastock Confederation – Otaliana Friendship and Alliance Treaty. This Treaty solidifies the natural comradeship between the people of Otaliana and Vladastock; and for the first time in our history; binds the Confederation into a defensive military alliance.
Whilst the Treaty encourages peaceful foreign policies, it is a reality that small polities such as micronations require the strength of military alliances in order to protect their interests. This represents a major step forward in our Confederation’s foreign policy, as previous treaties signed with other micronations have only recognized other governments.
It is the belief of this government that Otaliana shares the same goals for humanity as we do; as such we agreed to Otaliana’s request for an alliance; the only stipulation we added was that we would not assist in aggressive military actions.
