What is Covid?

Covid is spike proteins, fever, coughs.

It is shortness. of. breath, and laboured breathing.

It is restless nights and overflowed hospitals; rationed ventilators and medical supplies. Bodies in freezer trucks.

Unmarked mass graves.

Covid is the separation of families, lovers, friends, partners.

Some by distance, many by death.

Covid does not discriminate, it knows no class, no race, no gender.

But it is higher mortality rate for the poor than the rich.

It is countries hoarding vaccines while children gasp for life.

Covid is a lot of things.

What it should not be, is politics.

When the thirst for power overshawdows our innate desire to help one another, what remains of us?.

So what is Covid?

It is a call, a challenge, a chance

For humanity to unite and shine brighter than ever as one.

From world leaders to you and I,

This, is the trial of Covid.
