Sixtieth Anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight to space
On the 12th of April 1961, 60 years ago to this year, Yuri Gagarin launched into space and became the first man to ever leave our mother Earth. This anniversary is a chance to not only remember the incredible feat, but to also remind ourselves of the wonders we can achieve when we focus our energies into scientific advancement. Wonders which belong to all Humankind.
Gagarin was born the son of a Carpenter and a Farmer; he grew up during the fascist occupation of western Russia; where even as a child he performed acts of sabotage against the cruel invaders. This humble and heroic upbringing made him the perfect candidate for our first representative to the stars, a true symbol of the greatness found in Humanity.
May we remember his adventurous deeds and the important lesson that, when we as a species focus our attention towards the stars rather than mindless conflict, we can achieve marvels that those before us could only imagine in wild fantasies.
The Vladastock Confederation, our Citizens, the Democratic Socialist Confederation Party and the Centre Alliance Party honor the deeds of this great man, and congratulate the Russian people that made it happen.
